Laser Tracker
FARO Vantage S
The Vantage S laser tracker is the newest laser tracker released by FARO. It uses a laser beam to track a hand-held target, measuring the location of the target thousands of times per second. The Vantage S laser tracker’s accuracy and real-time feedback capability makes it ideal for tool building, complex layouts/alignments, and dimensional problem-solving. The Vantage S’s ability to measure at ranges of up to 80 metres (262.5 feet) makes it especially suitable for large-scale applications.

3D Laser Scanner
Surphaser 100HSX
The Surphaser 100HSX 3D laser scanner captures the shape of objects by using a pulsed laser beam to collect millions of points in a single scan. The Surphaser measures in a hemispherical volume around itself at submillimeter accuracy. It is ideal for reverse modeling, dimensional control, and capturing the equipment, cable/pipe routings, and other contents of 3D Spaces.
Configuration | Specification |
---|---|
Recommended Work Range | 1 – 35 m |
Ambiguity Range | 90 m |
Angular Uncertainty | 15 arc sec |
Range Noise; 90% reflectivity | 0.07 mm @ 10 m |
Range Noise; 10% reflectivity | 0.41 mm @ 10 m |
Range Uncertainty | <0.35 mm @ 5 m |

Measurement Arm
FARO Platinum Arm
The FARO Platinum Arm takes accurate measurements using a probe at the end of articulating joints. The Platinum Arm is ideal for inspections of complex objects – especially when obstructions make laser measurement, which rely on having clear line-of-sight to an object, difficult and/or time consuming.
Category | Specification |

Length Accuracy | ±0.036 mm (±0.0014 in) |
Our Software

3D Measurement Software
Innovmetric Software Polyworks Metrology Suite
Polyworks Metrology Suite is a complete solution for 3D Measurement. Capabilities include recording measurements, alignment, and analysis of various types of measurements (e.g. laser scanner point clouds vs laser tracker probed points).
- Measurement
- Alignment
- Inspection
- Meshing point clouds

Reverse Modeling Software
3D Systems Geomagic Design X
Geomagic Design X is a powerful modeling tool that is well-suited to creating “as-is” models from measurements. Its direct compatibility with SolidWorks allows the creation of parametric models derived from measured data.
Geomagic is used for “as-is” modeling directly from laser scans. “As-is” modeling is useful for characterizing objects and performing analyses such as:
- identifying deformations
- detecting clashes and interference
- checking curvature and symmetry
- identifying differences between build/manufacture and design

3D Modeling Software
Dassault Systèmes Solidworks Premium
Solidworks is an industry standard for computer-aided design (CAD) used throughout the engineering design process from modeling to creating drawings.
- Engineering Design
- Modeling
- Engineering Drawings

NURBS Surface Modeling Software
McNeel North America Rhinoceros
Rhino is a powerful surfacing software that gives full control over Non-Uniform Rational B-Splines (NURBS). NURBS are the mathematical representations of geometry. When performing “as-is” modeling or surfacing, the NURBS that drive the “as-is” model or surface may be tuned to improve their conformance to the real artifact (i.e. measurements of the artifact).
